A visit to the Capitol
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to spend a chilly Saturday morning wandering around the Capitol Building with my camera. I arrived pretty early in the morning and for much of the time, it felt like I had the place almost to myself.
Many times when I’ve been to the Capitol, it had been swarming with people and it’s difficult to get some great photos of the decorative details and the all that is beautiful inside of our State Capitol without having people in the shot. I finally had that opportunity.
Wandering around I found that the Kansas Supreme Court room, as well as the Senate and House viewing galleries were open for some additional photos of rooms usually busy and bustling with people.
The Capitol is open on Saturday so you don’t have to wait until your children’s next field trip to enjoy all that the Capitol has to offer.
I plan on going back soon to take advantage of the dome tour!
